River levels continue to be high at the Little Puddle and Briantspuddle river gauges as a result of the ground being saturated and reacting to recent rainfall. Consequently, the risk of flooding remains. We expect flooding to affect the Piddle and tributaries between Alton Pancras and Wareham.
Further rainfall is expected over the next few days. The groundwater levels are high and helping sustain the current high river levels. River levels can rise quickly in response to rainfall.
Owners should continue to use any property flood resilience equipment installed. Please avoid using low lying paths and bridges over local watercourses, and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers which may be flooded.
We are closely monitoring the situation. This message will be updated on Monday 24/02/25 by 12 noon, or as the situation changes.
